That's My Boy!

Rock On! I guess we don't have to guess where he got this side of him.

Sorry, it has been a long time. I have no excuse. Just lazy.

All has been well. Work is good. Life is good.

Just here enjoying summer and the "concerts" at our house.

I will have more tomorrow......by the way if any one has any ideas for a "photo assignment" let me know (colors, shapes, people, places..etc.). I think that would be a great way for me to practice and step outside my regular boundries.

Let me know.

Long Time....Sorry

So it has been a long time. Nothing real exciting going on. Taking a few pics and working and playing.

I started a new job about two months ago and have been in training and waiting for my actual schedule to come out. The boss lady finally put it out for people to bid on and it just so happens that I am the last man on the totem pole. So I am waiting impatiently for my schedule.

It wouldn't be a big deal, but I start school in a month and need to buy books and all that fun stuff. I need to make sure that my schedule will work before I spend a million dollars (at least) on books and junk.

So on Monday or Tuesday I will finally have an at ease mind about this whole school and work thing. Hopefully.

Anyways, keep you fingers crossed that I will get a good schedule.

It's a conspiracy!

Why is it that everyone in the world, myself excluded, is going camping this week? Do these people not have jobs or responsibilities? What is it? I need to know.

Everyone I know and have talked to has either "taken their boat for dip" or "ran their jetski's" or something else that involves a camper, camp trailer, 5th wheel, boat, jet ski, tent, camp fire, or something else that makes me jealous. I WANT TOYS and the TIME to use them.

So if anyone knows a magic fairy or magician or a hobbit for that matter that can make this happen for me send me their business card. Someone needs to let me in this conspiracy.

Moving on. So hopefully this week I will be able to take few pics of kids other than my own (not that my kids are bad, I just need variety, my kids will always be number in the photo field). A few neighbors are going to let their kids model for me to help build my portfolio. I am very excited. I just hope that they turn out all right. That would be pretty embarrassing if I botched it.

Have a great week.....

Sun and Fun

Great day today. First, I got home from work very early. Second, we went to the park and had a blast. Third, I was able to finally figure out some picture editing stuff.

So I am new to the whole digital photo world. I have been a film guy for a while. So when I finally converted I decided that I would be a post production minimalist and have done, oh.....nothing to any picture after taking it. Until today. I am pretty excited to be able to do simple fixs and pop a little color here and there.

Big D seen some show with a skate park on it and remembered seeing one by our house and thought he was going to be a skater. Until we got there and he seen how big that stuff really is. So he is going to practice STANDING on a skateboard first, then maybe hit the ramps and rails.

Mine was fun day, hope yours was as well.

I am SPOILED!

As I was sitting in the stop and go traffic (mostly stop) on the way to Salt Lake this morning to a training class for work I was complaining to myself about how bad this sucks and blah, blah, blah when I realized that not more than four months ago I was working 13 hour days with a one hour commute each way. So as I turn up the radio and tell my self to stop being a baby I realized that I am now officially spoiled.

Working forty hours a week and being home by dinner everyday is easy and great. When I first got out of the Army I knew I could do eight hour days standing on my head. And I did. So here it is about four months later and I complain about and extra hour a day. Man I suck.

Point being, if any of you that I know catch me whining...slap me a good one.

I didn't get a chance to get the camera out tonight, so you are getting an old pic today. Hope you like it.

Summer time

So, I just wanted to let you know that summer is officially here. I found it myself. For some unknown reason (which I wish I could figure out) I get sunburned bad once a year, at the beginning of summer. Traditionally I have always called this the start of summer. So, just to let you all know, summer is officially here.

To top it all off as I was doing the yard work which led to start of summer I was also stung by a bee or wasp or some other mean insect and now my wrist is about the same size as my elbow.

Just to explain this pic. Big D figured out how to scratch the inside of his mouth with his finger......through his ear. Pretty neat trick if I do say so myself. He thought it was pretty funny also.

Tip of the day: always put on sunscreen (preferably before outdoor activity) and in my case
BUG REPELLENT!

Peek-A-Boo

So I came to the realization a couple of weeks ago that out house is ran by a 2 year old and a 4 year old. To give them credit they are almost 3 and 5, which I guess would old enough to run a household. Just ask them, they will agree.

Anyway, about the time we realized that we were being overran we decided to lay down the law (ha,ha). Anyone that knows us and our kids would attest that that is a joke. Three or four days down the road funny things start to happen. Big D my four year old switches gears and wants to be the good example (YES!), but Ms. M must of had an epiphany or found herself or something. She 180'd into little mis' thing that is not going to take any crap from any body.

Peek-A-Boo mom and dad here is the real me. Well Ms. M we love you anyway and I guess three is old enough be independent, right?

Hope the pictures are getting better. If anyone stumbles across this and likes them let me know.

Until next time...

Lucky Ducks

We are some lucky people. Just in case you forgot we live in America, which by default, makes us lucky. I couldn't ask for a better place to live. We have more freedoms and rights than another nation or country.

We do not have anyone telling us what to watch on t.v. or forcing us to go to certain church. We often over look the greatness of this nation. This fourth, as with every fourth of July, I felt humbled to be a part of and had to opportunity to serve this great nation and people.

As you walk through the mall or down the street and see all the different races and religions that are able to live in unity here remember those who were not so fortunate. Those who have died because someone believed differently than they did. And most of all lets not forget those who have died trying to give the oppressed a better life.

All in all, we are some lucky ducks to be were we are.

Hope you all enjoyed the fireworks, our little circle was great.

HAPPY FOURTH!
